How do I use the learning platform Blackboard?

Blackboard is the central learning platform of Freie Universität Berlin, and is used by many instructors to add online-learning elements to their courses. Blackboard is thus a tool to make course materials such as presentations, readings, and audio files available to students, to communicate with each other, or to conduct tests and surveys. Some subjects may use other e-learning platforms, such as the whiteboard used in the Mathematics and Computer Science and Physics departments.

If you register for a course via Campus Management, you are automatically enrolled in the respective Blackboard course. You have access to it as soon as the course instructor has unlocked the course. If the course instructors have chosen to use another procedure to make the Blackboard course available to you, they will tell you how to get access during the first session of the course.

To log in to Blackboard, use your Freie Universität-account credentials.
